SpaceSuit XR

Privacy

Short version: your scenes stay on your headset. The app has no internet access and no analytics, accounts or advertising.

Last updated October 2026. Applies to SpaceSuit View 0.2.0 (alpha) and this website.

The SpaceSuit View app

What it asks for

  • All files access, which you grant in the headset. The app uses it only to list, read, convert and delete scene files in the headset's Download folder.
  • It does not ask for internet access, the microphone, the cameras, hand or eye tracking, location or contacts.

What it does with your data

  • Your scenes stay on the headset. The app reads .ply, .zip and .vsplat files from Download and writes converted scenes there. Importing a zip makes a temporary copy that is deleted when the import ends. It deletes a file only when you confirm.
  • No network. The app has no internet permission, so it can't send or receive anything.
  • Settings (import size and the upright fix) are stored on the headset.
  • Head and controller tracking is used frame by frame to draw the scene and handle input. It is not stored or sent.
  • Passthrough is drawn by the headset's system behind the app. The app never receives camera images.
  • Diagnostic logs go to the headset's system log, which is reachable only with developer tools. The app doesn't send them anywhere.
  • No accounts, analytics, advertising or crash reporting of our own.

Other apps it opens

Browse SuperSplat and Send feedback open the separate Quest Browser. What the browser and the sites you visit collect falls under their own policies.

Meta's platform

SpaceSuit View runs on Meta Horizon OS and is built with the Meta XR SDK. What Horizon OS, the Meta Horizon Store and Meta's runtime collect is covered by Meta's privacy policy, not by us, so we don't promise that no data ever leaves your headset.

Feedback you send us

  • The feedback form on /alpha sends what you type (the report type, headset, app version, scene, size, your description and, if you choose, a way to reach you) to a Google Form. Responses are stored in a Google Sheet that only SpaceSuit XR can open. Google processes it under Google's privacy policy.
  • We use it only to fix and improve SpaceSuit View, and to reply to you if you left contact details.
  • We keep reports for the duration of the alpha and delete them within 12 months after it ends. Ask us to delete yours at any time.
  • If you email us instead, your email stays in our inbox under the same rules.
